Frankie My Dear, I Love You! Frankenstein Halloween Favor

Are you ready for a Halloween favor you can fill with treats?

This little guy was inspired by a candy jar I saw a few years ago on  The Sweet Spot: Halloween craftiness.

Mr Frankenstein Candy Jar (Photo from The Sweet Spot)

Halloween is a favorite for me and I fell in love (heart pumping, dizzy love) with "Mr. Frankenstein". The blog post said she bought him at Target so I assumed there had to be a few of "him" out there. I looked high and low for TWO YEARS on eBay, craigslist, everywhere. Was he out there waiting for me?

Nope, I found this guy but he was immature, silly and was no match for my one true love.

What do girls do when there are no perfect men around? We dream one up, so in 2012, I decided to make my own version.  I decided he should be pocket size so I could take my sweet little love with me everywhere. I had to marinate the idea for 9 months (because I am slow and was just getting back into Photoshop).

But for Halloween 2013,  I designed and named him "Frankie My Dear". I made 40 clones of Frankie and filled them with yummies!

Now I want to share him with you. The link for a dropbox files to download is below.  He is so easy (just like a good boyfriend should be). Print him on your printer or take him on a thumb drive to a copy store (if you are cutting him out with a Silhouette make sure you tell them not to center or scale the file).

The studio3 file is specifically for silhouette users. I don't know if my settings will hold so I will note them here. I used Mohawk Color Copy 98 (110 cover stock) which is pretty heavy, you may have to play around with your settings depending on what you print Frankie on. The settings for the blue score lines are: Ratchet Blade 2, Speed 10, and Thickness 5. The settings for the red cut lines are: Ratchet Blake 6, Speed 10, Thickness 33, and Double Cut checked.

The PDF file will work for crafters talented with scissors or a craft knife. Score at 4-inches and 5-inches measuring from the Frankies bottom.

Once Frankie was folded, I used a small craft bag for the goodies and stapled it to the back then used double-stick tape to attach the back to the front.

Halloween Smarties Riddle Box

In October 2006 Bob had just made me my first web gun.

I had a ton of fun shooting spider web on dead trees

and shooting spider web on a broken umbrella

and making several Halloween cards by shooting web onto black cardstock. Then an idea entered the crazy-woman brain.

I shot web on the inside of laminating pouches, laminated them with the web inside and cut and folded them into boxes.

These labels were placed on the front and back of the boxes

120 Halloween riddles were found. The riddle was printed on the outside of the wrap, pared with Halloween backgrounds. The answer was printed on the inside. 24 riddles and answers per page for a total of 5 pages front and back.

The wrappers were cut out and simultaneously laminated and attached to the wrapped Smartie rolls  with clear packing tape.

The last step was to stuff the boxes with Smarties and doorbell ditch a few ghouls.

Halloween Vinyl Decals

Update with instructions and Silhouette cutting file.

Anyone who knows me well knows that October is my favorite. In fact October and I are the best of friends.

I have always thought of October as the start of Arizona's best weather! It's our Spring, our time for renewal, outdoor fun, planting, etc... It is finally cool enough to really enjoy being outside when the sun is high in the sky.

I also love Halloween. Although, I am turning from the scary and gory towards the cutsie (I am a grandmother now after all).

So I made my version of the toilet peeper.

He looks pretty good on my trunk also!

I would like to share the link for my version of the toilet peeper and hope you will honor my terms of use.

Please cut as many peepers to use for yourself or to give to others as you would like, but please do not sell the peeper file. Please do not sale the cut peepers.

Please do not share this file directly or the link directly. If you would like to share this file with others, please share the direct link to this post.

For those of you with a Silhouette cutting machine, You can download the file from Dropbox by clicking on this Ink Rust and Sawdust Toilet Peeper link. If I have time and enough people want the DXF file I can  share that too. I made some changes in Silhouette so the DXF file needs a few modifications and is not ready to go at this time.

The Silhouette file contains two peepers. There are some extra lines in the file which I will explain below.

First I cut a piece of 12-inch by 16-inch vinyl and load it into my machine.

Next in Cut Settings under Cut Conditions I choose Advanced

I uncheck all the lines except the blue lines which I use to make sure I have the vinyl loaded in straight so there won't be any scary surprises when the vinyl is cutting (if you have a Silhouette and cut long pieces of vinyl you know what I mean).

After the blue lines are cut, I make sure my blade did a great "kiss cut" by weeding out the lower blue rectangle. I don't remove the vinyl from the machine I just weed the rectangle as the vinyl hangs out of the machine after finishing cutting the blue lines.

After making sure the alignment and cut is fine, I uncheck the blue lines, check the red and green lines and let the Silhouette play it's sweet music for me!

The green diamonds are for cutting my two creepers apart . The other green lines are weeding lines I use the green lines to make weeding the creepers just a little easier. You may not need the green lines and can uncheck them before you cut.

If you have a Silhouette and cut vinyl you already know how to apply it. If you are new to vinyl, here is a Vinyl Application Instructions link for applying the finished peeper

I hope you enjoy cutting and applying the toilet creeper.

Halloween Skeleton Vinyl

I love him. He is 32" tall, pasty white, and skin and bones (okay just bones with no skin).

When I saw this board I knew it would be perfect for my new boyfriend. I gave it a coat of black paint and it was all ready.

While the paint was drying I loaded my machine with white vinyl and cut out my design (with a few extras just for fun).
